Telugu is unique in its literary tradition and cultural heritage. Its inscriptional History starts from 575 AD. Telugu is a major Dravidian Language. It is the fifteenth largest language in the world. The Department of Telugu Language and Translation Studies focus upon the study of Telugu Language and Literature in relation to other languages and modern applications of language studies.The Department of Telugu has its existence since 1996. At present, the department is functioning with one faculty member and around 60 students. Here Telugu being taught as a second language in 12 UG programs.
To empower students in telugu language. To make students learn the greatness of telugu heritage, customs and traditions. Explain the need of telugu language which has been losing its importance survival.
