Management of Bio-Degradable Waste

Degradable And Non –Degradable Waste Management

Solid Waste Management

Various measures to manage solid waste effectively are implemented in our college campus. Waste segregation is being practiced, where waste is categorized into organic, recyclable and non-recyclable for proper disposal. Composting is also being carried out on campus, where organic waste such as food scraps and yard waste is converted into nutrient rich compost, which is used as a natural fertilizer. Proper disposal of waste is ensured and littering on campus grounds is prohibited.

Liquid Waste Management

Our college campus places great importance on liquid waste management, recognizing the potential impact it can have on the environment. We ensure proper disposal of liquid chemical waste from labs into soak pits to prevent harm to the environment and human health. Implementation of Reverse osmosis (RO) plant to treat the water and provide clean drinking water for staff and students. The water discharged from the RO plant is collected in separate tank for various purposes like watering plants, mopping, cleaning floor, flushing toilets etc.
